KISS/Paul Stanley 1978

In 1978, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss recorded individual solo albums that were simultaneously issued as KISS. This gave each of them the opportunity to stretch creatively, as well as to work with other musicians. From 1976 through 1983, Richie Fontana was a close member of the KISS family, starting with the days of Piper sharing the same management, as well as touring with KISS.

Therefore, Paul Stanley had no trouble locating Richie to ask him to play drums on the tracks that would become his solo album. Richie appears on the first four songs of the album with Paul, and member's of Meat Loaf's band.

"KISS/Paul Stanley" initially sold over one million copies, going platinum as all other KISS albums usually do.
